In a saucepan or crockpot, stir together tomato puree and crushed tomatoes. Optionally add 1 can of water if desired.
Season to taste with spices.
If using a saucepan, simmer for half a day or until thickened. Stir occasionally to avoid burning. If using a crock pot set on low and cook for approximately 8 hours.
Optionally add cooked ground beef or sausage if desired.
